Our Classroom

We thought you might like to see some photos of our classroom. We have all worked hard to make it as stimulating a place for learning as we can. It will change lots throughout the year as we study different topics so don't forget to keep looking!

This is our learning wall. We constantly update it by adding comments about things we have enjoyed or learnt during the week. We also use it to write encouraging comments to others. Soon it will be full of post-it notes!

These are our coats of arms. They represent us and our interests and hobbies.

Here you can see our work on World Team. We are extremely proud of this work. We worked very hard and as you can see the results are great! Come and see the display for yourself in our classroom.

These are two of the spreads in the style of World Team that we produced:

MATHS

In year 5 we have been working on <> which means less than and greater than, in our books we played a game - all the groups played it. Mrs Long wrote a number on the board, we had four cards and we had to make it close to the number on the board.

World Team - Year 5 style

In Formula Base we have been making our own two page script based on a book called World Team. Everyone had to pick a country and study it. Eventually we finished our research and we got to get arty. The most fun part of it was doing the drawing. This work was really fun so thank you Mrs Collin!!!

Welcome to Formula base in Year 5!

Hello and welcome to Formula Base!!! We have been at school for almost 2 weeks now and have done so much in that time! we have really enjoyed looking at the book World Team by Tim Vyner (www.randomhouse.co.uk/worldteam) 'One big round world, one small round ball and right now, there are more children than you can possibly imagine playing football'. We found out about a country using atlases and the internet and then used the information we had found to create a two page spread in the style of the book.

Testing Toasters in year 5

We tested toasters in the style of 'Which'. We looked at aesthetics, function, usability, price and evenness of toasting. Then we enjoyed the toast!
